A-level Art Trip
Recently Year 12 A-level Art students visited the State Museum of Art in Tashkent and the Bonum Factum Gallery. As part of their course, students must study the work of historical and contemporary artists to develop their contextual understanding of the own artwork. At the State Museum, students used their time productively by recording artists work with photography and drawing directly from the artworks focusing on work that was connected to their chosen theme.
Later in the day we visited the Bonum Factum Gallery, housed in an old bomb shelter, where students were able to see the work of the contemporary artist Seviliya Akramova and engage with an art activity that invited visitors to draw directly onto and complete enlarged prints of her work.
Students enjoyed both galleries and the contrast between the two experiences which will inform and inspire their artwork back in school.
