Mr. Brian Platts

Brian’s last position was the Principal of the British School Kathmandu. He was previously the Head of Secondary School at the British School in Tokyo, and prior to that was the Deputy Head at the British School Manila.
Brian is from the United Kingdom and has been an active part of the teaching profession for 24 years, working at: Marlborough School, UK; Abraham Lincoln School, Dominican Republic; Hinchingbrooke School, UK; Shrewsbury School, Thailand and Slough Grammar School, UK.
Learning and wellbeing has and always will be the core of Brian’s work in schools, both inside and outside of the classroom, with a particular interest in authentic learning, curriculum design, co-curricular provision (especially through service), empowering a genuine student voice, and enabling all students to find their ‘element’.
Brian is incredibly excited about joining the WIST community and working with all staff, students, and parents in further developing all aspects of the school’s provision.
