Kane studied Microbiology and Biochemistry at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, but realised after 4 years of study that this wasn’t the route for him, so he decided to try and find a different path. He spent the summer of 2012 volunteering as an English Teacher in rural India and fell in love with the idea of being an educator. It’s at that moment he realised what he wanted to do, so after graduating he undertook post-graduate studies, training as a primary teacher. He has since spent a summer working as an English Teacher in Italy, a month training teacher in Cambodia, volunteered at schools in Ghana and also taken part in an LRTT fellowship in Uganda. Kane has always had a thirst for travel and adventure. Growing up, he always wanted to be an explorer and fortunately for him, his passion for education is allowing him to do just that. He is very excited to join the WIST family, help develop a great school and explore some of the amazing culture of Uzbekistan.
