Biography

24 years’ experience teaching 11-19 year olds English Language and Literature within UK and international schools over 3 continents. Academic and pastoral leader who has taught IB Diploma (English and Theory of Knowledge), A Level, MYP, Cambridge IGCSE, GCSE and Key Stage 3. Actively engaged in Extracurricular Activities. Registered IB Diploma examiner. Experience of teaching students with a wide range of need within a variety of educational settings. Taught in multi-cultural schools and engaged with very academically able students and those with acute Special Educational Need. Successful teaching of students for whom English is not their first language. Educational philosophy – students learn best when they feel safe, happy and secure and can see the relevance to their own lives and experience regarding the learning activities they are exposed to.
